The network JAIN organizes a Dutch-German mini symposium AI-based assistance to people with dementia on January 19th, 10h30-12h15 CET (online)! In this mini symposium, 6 researchers and entrepreneurs from the Netherlands and Germany, including Erwin, will give pitches about their area of work, and answer questions afterwards.

Why this symposium? More than 50 million people worldwide live with dementia. But the number of people available to provide care decreases substantially in the coming decades. Dementia has a major impact on the quality of life and entails a high perceived burden of disease. To maintain the quality of life of people with dementia or other cognitive impairments, smart applications need to be developed to provide effective support and keep the healthcare available and affordable. Both in The Netherlands and in Germany, efforts are made to improve the quality of life of people with dementia using technological innovation.
