On the 27th of June 2019, Mentech Innovation won the Gerard & Anton award. The award for the 10 most promising startups of the Brainport region.
This award is a great recognition for the HUME proposition. Mentech Innovation, an Eindhoven-based company, develops an emotion artificial intelligence platform based on wearables (for physiology and speech recognition), behavior models and machine learning to facilitate behavioral change, to improve self-management, to enhance quality of life and happiness. The first product, the HUME, was developed to provide vulnerable people with (intellectual) disabilities and limited opportunities to verbally communicate a voice. Better understanding of their emotions, feelings and unmet needs will lead to better care for less costs and ultimately it will lead to increased quality of life and happiness. Currently, the system is validated for stress detection and regulation with strong participation of care organizations and tech partners. Mentech also expands its platform to markets beyond care.
