The HUME measures stress and stress build-up and visualizes this in a clear dashboard. This gives you insight in your own stress level or in the stress level of your clients. Through an early warning of the system you can respond to this and prevent misunderstood behavior.

In healthcare

The HUME helps care organisations to understand misunderstood behaviour of clients and residents. People with dementia or intellectual disabilities sometimes show misunderstood behaviour. In many cases, this behaviour is caused by stress. Stress levels can be measured in real-time with the HUME, giving care givers insight into the causes of misunderstood behaviour. This information can also be used to prevent stress development and escalations.

stress managing and

Empowering resilience

You can also use the HUME to measure employee stress. Organisations thereby obtain anonymous information about employees’ perception of stress and the actual level of stress. In addition, employees can gain individual insight into their own stress levels, allowing them to recognise signals of stress earlier and address the cause of stress.

The HUME measures biofeedback with sensors. The HUME operates with a chest strap, patch and/or a sock with sensors. The chest strap and patch measure heart rate and movement, the sock measures skin conductance and movement. These measurement data are translated into an indication of stress using the HUME software.

Monitor live stresslevels

Monitor the client’s stress level live and receive an alert when stress levels increase. You can then react to stress early and make an intervention, hence preventing escalations. It is also possible to look back at the stress level up to 1 hour. This gives you a better idea of the client’s state of mind and you can adjust the activity or treatment accordingly.

Research interventions

With sufficient data, you can start investigating correlations between behaviour and stress. This will allow you to better interpret the cause of misunderstood behaviour or stress and test the effect of interventions. The team can use the HUME results to eliminate the cause of stress. You can also use this diagnosis to work on your own resilience.

There are already many organisations that use the HUME daily. Please read their experiences below.

Gerard Cialdella Regional Manager Prinsenstichting

"When you understand misunderstood behaviour, you know better what to do. We deploy the HUME with clients where we obtain the most impact and can make the biggest difference in quality of life."

Esther van Waes Caregiver Severinus

"Thanks to the HUME we discovered that we have to give our client more time in the morning and that we should not rush. Talking nicely, telling her what we are going to do and paying attention works much better. If we show that we can see and hear her, her stress levels drop immediately."

Koen Rosbender Behavioural Scientist 's Heeren Loo

"Thanks to the HUME, we can measure whether stress builds up before an escalation occurs and make an intervention in time. In this way, the HUME can cause a revolutionary change and contribute to the development of the treatment line."

Inge Meijerman Project Leader Innovation Philadelphia

"In stressful situations, it is difficult for people with difficult-to-understand behaviour to communicate with caregivers. Understanding and being understood are even more important at such moments. With the HUME we wish to better understand this behaviour."

Anoniem Behavioural Scientist Severinus

"The HUME is like a 'voice' for the resident who has difficulty telling us whether something is pleasant or not. With the HUME, we found out that a resident builds up stress even before we could see it with our caregiver's eye."
